Building certification and acoustics go hand in hand as each certification scheme requires an assessment of environmental, room and building acoustics. Building certification adds credibility to the provision of a quality indoor environment, which of course also includes acoustics, as well as contributes to sustainability.
WELL
- The WELL certification system focuses on the human health and well-being.
- The requirements are based on medical research and focus on the quality of the indoor environment.
- Acoustic conditions are assessed in the project phase and verified at the building implementation phase.
- WELL certification deals with:
- Sound mapping – label acoustic zones
- Dividing spaces into zones according to functional use (called sound mapping in translation)
- Noise in the workplace and sound insulation separating the construction by speech intelligibility and reverberation time
- Maximum noise level in the workplace, sound insulation of dividing constructions, speech indelibility and reverberation time
“AkuDesign provides consultations, acoustic simulations, and sound measurements of designed acoustic implementations.”
BREEAM
- BREEAM is a certification system of sustainable construction that assesses office, residential and industrial buildings
- Created in Great Britain, partly based on British standards and norms, but applicable worldwide.
- Acoustic conditions are assessed in the project phase and verified at the building implementation phase.
- In point Hea 05 Acoustic performance, the reverberation time and sound insulation of internal dividing structures are monitored
- In point Pol 05 Reduction of noise pollution, the noise of the external environment of the building is monitored
“AkuDesign provides advisory and consultations for investors and building architects in the field of acoustics during the entire building certification process.”
MULTI COMFORT
- The certification scheme from the world leader in the construction market Saint-Gobain
- Focused on the comfort of the interior of houses, apartments, offices and public spaces.
- The assessment is divided into four categories and is based on the human senses – feel, see, hear and breathe.
- In the category acoustic comfort, the following are assessed:
- Materials and systems of ensuring acoustic insulation
- Absorbent materials used to reduce unwanted reflections inside rooms
“In the category of acoustic comfort, AkuDesign is a suitable partner for the entire building certification process.”
